Everyone info. Download the new My Spectrum App, now including Spectrum Mobile services. Safety starts with understanding how developers collect and share your data. Compared to other streaming services it is lacking quite a bit. Adding it makes my bill less money or I wouldn't have it. The only feature is the guide. Theres no search, you can't pause or rewind like you can with all other streaming services, no closed caption option. Bottom line if it lowers your bill go for it and if it doesn't don't do it. Also some local channels would be a nice touch. This app has really fallen downhill. Plus u need wifi to watch local channels. There has been a few moments over the past months where a minor glitch had occurred, however, the IT support and designers were always on the ball for updating the app normally within a few hours. The app seemingly finally has stable casting to Android tv which is nice. The latency is also a lot better in app than a year ago where it was rather rough. The app seems like a winner now rather than a hard recommendation. Works like the TV but it can be portable and go anywhere we want. Great for tailgating a game, or for the back yard game day picnic. On the Kindle Fire it's a great personal movie screen for when someone is watching the big screen TV in the other room. It installs and works just fine on the tablets BUT WHY NOT THE FIRE TV OR FIRESTICK WHERE IT MATTERS TO SOME? Get it working on the FIRE TV AND FIRE TV STICK! It's a great app, it works as intended. It never worked on android TV boxes the legit ones not the makeshift ones Fire TV, Nvidia Shield etc. It works great on all my android tablets, phones on my xbox one, You can cast if from your phone to a chromecast.
In my bedroom I have a vizio tv. I asked Vizio two years ago if they are going to add it they said no. My Samsung TV has it and it also works great. Don't forget you can use it on your PC as well by going to the live tv on your browser. When I'm traveling I have some channels which is away mode which is fine since I knew this coming into it and they tell you if you bother reading. It has been like this for many years. So people complaining about this its a mute point. I've used this app when it was TWC and it always works as intended.
Pros: Works on many devices Android Tablets and Mobile Works Great on Xbox one, Roku, Samsung TV's You can cast from Chrome You an use the web version to watch your tv from home or away with limited channel lineup Cons: Doesn't work on Certified Android TV Boxes LIke Fire TV, Nvidia Shield. There are some "Android TV's" where you can load it but it's the mobile version I wouldn't recommend it. Bottom line: If you are solely looking for this to work to cast on your TV the best option is a Roku, if you have an xbox one at your home use that app version. Some Samsung TV's have it some don't I believe Samsung is discontinuing it but that is on Samsung not Spectrum. Vizio refuses to add it to their tv's You an use it through your browser and cast it to your tv as well. So all those 1 star reviews don't understand what this app is for and the limitations.
